Descrição
Judit Polgar is considered the strongest female chess player of all time. In 1991, Polgar achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months, at the time the youngest to have done so, breaking the record previously held by the former World Champion Bobby Fischer. She is the first, and to date only, woman to have surpassed the 2700 ELO, reaching a career peak rating of 2735 and peak world ranking of No. 8, both achieved in 2005. Her father purposely made his daughter play against boys. In chess, men are usually stronger than women, and so, this is an excellent training. And perhaps, that’s the reason why she is considered the strongest female chess player. [alert type=”success” close=”false” heading=”Suggested”] I’ve written an article, Chess for Females, on this topic, featuring Judit Polgar’s devastating victory against Viswanathan Anand. You may like to read it. [/alert] Today we’re going to take a look at a beautiful game played by Polgar when she was just 12-years old. The game was played in the Women Chess Olympiad 1988, and her opponent was Pavlina Angelova. Polgar set a deadly trap for Angelova, and won the game in just 17 moves! Our guest coach Mato Jelic has prepared a very interesting video lesson for you, analysing this beautiful game. You can watch the video below: About author Mato Jelic is a professional chess coach born in Croatia, and now he lives in Australia.
