Zoan is one of the three Devil Fruit types. This type of Devil Fruit allows a user to transform into an animal species at will, or an inter-species hybrid. The term was first used when Dalton's Devil Fruit was used to attack Wapol. Zoan comes from the Ancient Greek zôia (ζῷᾰ), plural of zôion (ζῷον), which means "animal" or "beast".
