Robbers in London have pretty good taste. Women's Wear Daily reports that on Monday four thieves pulled a smash-and-grab at Gucci's London flagship in Knightsbridge and sadly got away with nearly $150,000 worth of merchandise. The crazy part, though? They targeted the It Bag of the season the Dionysus. The Dionysus is designer Alessandro Michele's first major new bag design since being named creative director of the Italian house last year—and it's coveted by the chicest-of-the-chic. The thieves got away with a stunning 40 Dionysus bags, which retail from $2,400 to $3,800. "Officers attended but suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival," a Met Police spokeswoman told WWD. "A car appeared to have been driven into the store's door to gain access. There are no reports of any injuries." Two renditions of the Dionysus bag. The thieves are at large and Gucci had no comment on the matter. Maybe the bag just made them mad—after all the bag is named for Greek god Dionysus, who in Greek mythology is the god of wine and ritual madness!
