Descrição
Levon Aronian and Hikaru Nakamura both won big games in the penultimate round of the FIDE Grand Prix as Grigoriy Oparin’s stay as sole leader of Pool A proved short-lived. There are now no sole leaders anywhere, with the most drama taking place in Pool C, where Wesley So took down Maxime Vachier-Lagrave to join Sam Shankland in the lead. All games were drawn in Pools B and D, with Yu Yangyi letting Amin Tabatabaei escape just when it looked certain he was going to score a crucial win.
