Sans changer quoi que ce soit au genre, Castlevania : Lords of Shadow 2 propose un jeu sang pour sang action qui ne demande pas trop de réflexion, mais plutôt des réflexes acérés pour tailler le mal dans la masse à grand coups de fouet. Malgré un moteur graphique qui a pris un sacré coup de vieux, le jeu propose une bonne durée de vie qui avoisine la quinzaine d’heures de jeu. Avec un gameplay toujours aussi nerveux, la série continue de s’inscrire dans la lignée des God of War et autres Devil May Cry, ce qui n’est vraiment pas pour nous déplaire. Le seul point noir du jeu réside dans son scénario, complètement décousu, qui laisse le joueur dans une sorte de flottement entre tentatives pour comprendre ce qui se passe et abandon du scénario au profit des combats.
