Rem (レム, Remu) é a Shinigami que dá a Misa Amane seu Death Note. Como Ryuk, Rem possuía dois Death Notes. Para impedir que Misa fosse pega pela equipe de investigação japonesa, Rem matou L. Contudo, ao fazê-lo, ela foi reduzida a pó, deixando apenas seu Death Note. A aparência de Rem é bastante esquelética, com longos braços, coluna vertebral em forma de cordão e tecido ósseo.
