This Synonyms Teach-Its unit includes a rigorous, fun, and engaging lesson to help you teach this difficult skill to your students.
This unit includes:
☞ a Scripted Standards-Based Lesson Plan that includes Learning Targets, Materials, Standards, and a scripted lesson plan to help you effectively teach about what Synonyms are and how Synonyms are made and used.
☞ a Whole Group Active Engagement Activity to engage and excite your students to help them learn about Synonyms. You will engage your students by reading the story Pitch and Throw Grasp and Know by Brian Cleary. (This book not included). As you are reading ask them guiding questions.
☞ a Guided Practice Activity where the students will take a ride down Synonym Street. But the only way they can do that is if they match the correct cars with the correct streets.
☞ an Independent Practice Activity where the students will complete an interactive notebook activity.
