Top U.S. Junior Chess Players Compete In Tournament Nine of the country's best players were in Denver to compete in the 1977 Junior Invitational Chess Championship, above, Friday at Petroleum Club. Regan and Fedorowicz eventually became cochampions of the tournament, sponsored by U.S. Chess Federation, American Chess Foundation, Colorado Chess Association and several Denver oil companies.
