A reason that is brought up often about co-op gameplay greater than 2 players in Total War is the long wait times between turns. However, some people will be willing to wait longer if it means they can play with more people. At the least, it should be an option for people to choose from. Those that do not like it can simply continue playing 2 player co-op or single player modes.
