Descrição
Using their Round Rock ISD Classlink account, students in grades K through 5 can use ChessKid to play online chess with peers from any of the District's 35 elementary schools. ChessKid is free to play. Students only play with other students from within the District, remain anonymous, and there is no display of personal information or free-form chat. Students log in to their Classlink account, select ChessKid, and click Play vs. Kid to get started. Players can grow their game skills, receive coaching and sign up to play in online tournaments. Playing chess develops logic, critical thinking, and creativity by creating "if this, then that" scenarios, requiring players to imagine each possibility's potential moves, alternatives, and outcomes. The ChessKid program is available to all Round Rock ISD elementary students from the District's enrichment department, a Round Rock ISD future-readiness program.
