Fandom was originally launched as Wikicities in 2004. This logo was created by Jason Richey. This logo, designed by Christoph Struber, was selected as the winner of the 2006 Wikicities logo contest. In February 2007, Wikicities was renamed as Wikia. The previous logo design was used for a short time, albeit with the new name, it would be short-lived. An entirely new logo for Wikia, designed by Mike Bohrer, was introduced in June 2007. The "i"s in the wordmark are amended to look like square brac
