Deinosuchus was a genus of large crocodyliform that lived from 82-73 million years ago. Its main competitors as a large predator may have included sharks, marine reptiles like mosasaurs, theropods like the tyrannosaurs and other Deinosuchus. Its main prey were sea turtles and dinosaurs. Deinosuchus is an extinct relative to Crocodiles and Alligators, however studies of its brain case suggest it was more closely related to Alligators.
