DVD Review: Comedy TAG Has A Game Cast But That's About It - Movies In Focus

Descrição
Based on a true story which became the Wall Street Journal article, It Takes Planning, Caution to Avoid Being It by Russell Adams, Tag stars Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Hannibal Buress and Jake Johnson as a group of life-long friends who have been playing the same game of tag (hence the title) since childhood. Tag is a so-so studio comedy that gets by on its star’s charisma and their far-fetched hijinks but it’ll be soon forgotten once the credits have rolled. Tag‘s main problem is that it’s just too flimsy. The cast is game and there are a few solid laughs but this is a comedy that feels like a bad hangover from The Hangover. The characters are essentially cardboard cut-outs based on previous roles their respective actors have played and the whole thing feels like it was thrashed out over coffee and donuts somewhere on the Warner Bros backlot on a slow afternoon. The film’s female stars don’t fair as well as their male counterparts with Annabelle Wallis, Isla Fisher and Rashida Jones given very little do across the film’s running time. Energetic, with a little heart thrown in for the finale, Tag isn’t the best comedy ever made, []
