Request Support Introduction to Raven Pro Raven Pro is a software program for the acquisition, visualization, measurement, and analysis of sounds. Raven Pro provides a powerful, user-friendly research and teaching tool for scientists working with acoustic signals. Raven Pro’s highly configurable views provide unparalleled flexibility in data display. Raven Pro License Types Commercial: Intended for corporations conducting research using Raven Pro or anyone making money by using Raven Pro, including charging money for images or access to images that were created using Raven Pro.Non-profit: Intended for teachers, professors, academic researchers, government agency researchers, non-profit researchers, and individuals conducting personal research which is not to be used to make a profit.Non-Profit (1 year): Intended for teachers, professors, academic researchers, government agency researchers, non-profit researchers, and individuals conducting personal research which is not to be used to make a profit. Not available to commercial customers. License expires one year from the date of purchase, at which time Raven will run in demo mode.Student (1 year): Available to any student (K-12; undergraduate or graduate education at a college or university). Raven Pro 1.6 Student (1 year) licenses expire one year after the date of purchase. Thereafter you can renew your license free of charge for as long as you are a student or postdoc by emailing us to confirm your student status.Student (Semester): Any student enrolled in a course that uses Raven Pro is eligible to purchase a limited-time semester license for $50. Semester licenses expire at the end of each semester (January 31 for the fall semester, and June 30 for the spring semester), at which time Raven will run in demo mode. Fees for semester licenses are not applicable to any other Raven licenses that may be purchased later. Semester licenses provide a way that students can install Raven on their personal computers to use for the duration of a course.Instructional: Available to instructors at academic institutions. The basic instructional license fee of $400 provides for installation and concurrent use on up to four (4) instructional machines. An instructional machine is one owned by the licensing institution on which Raven Pro will be used exclusively for coursework. This may include lab, classroom, or field work. Personal machines and machines on which Raven Pro is not used exclusively for coursework are specifically excluded. Additional instructional licenses can be purchased for $100 per machine.
