First true 1080p TV Anime of all time? - Forums

This may as well be the first time a TV anime may be produced in full 1080p. Anime series are generally produced in either 720p or 900p or sometimes obscure resolutions, but I believe that no series as such has been produced in true 1080p before. Damn, those crisp lines though. For those who haven't seen this show in its 1080p format here's a few screenshots so you can see for yourself. I also really like the subtle grain effect they use, it gives it so much more depth and really diffuses those gradients of each colour. This is a lossy video source as well just to mention. I hope more studios will look up to this and follow in their footsteps. It seems so unreasonable to restrict resolutions, when rendering simple After Effects compositions on modern PCs and scanners that can go up to insane resolutions. Don't see where there is a budget constraint or other difficulty with producing at 1080p.
1080p isn't always the best resolution for anime, and sometimes lower resolutions are better. Yes, you read that right. Here's why. : r/animepiracy
